How much water goes through your downspout drains during one rainfall? If your roof is 2000 sq ft. it gathers around 1160 gallons of water during a 1 inch rainfall. Here in the Dallas area, that can happen often during the spring and fall. Home owners do not realize that their downspout drains are clogged from leafs, asphalt and other stuff that comes off of the roof and sits at the elbow!. This causes water to back up and cause damage to your lawn and foundation!  

With our system, what we like to do is put a T at the end. This T allows water to always drain out into the ground ensuring that there will be no blockage. We dig a 2 foot hole and fill it with pea gravel. This ensures that the water will drain and wick into the earth. Also the T has a strainer at the end which can easily lift off to put your hand in for removal of any obstacle that enters the system. On the top end we put a strainer in place that replaces the adapter that directly connects to the down spout. The strainer allows water to pass through into the system while stopping most of the leafs and debris from entering.
